Oscar
Ygnas is still stuck in her niche, now minus her shield and one boot. We dragged her away to try a few things with little luck. We found Warnock in a niche in the north east niche room.
I was able to cast Protection from Evil, which made the sand keep its distance from me. Bless failed, somehow intercepted by the power that rules this place. However, while Ygnas can technically cast spells, they tend to fail rapidly. Relying on her spells to hold Minerva and the werewolves seems unwise.
Minerva, meanwhile, demonstrated some ability to issue magical commands, which she usderd to make Fritz let Ygnas go. Temporarily, but still concerning. She claimed to be able to stop fights by singing, and confirmed thast the werewolves three are (or were) her brothers, under a curse by Vincent. Vincent is the master of the tower, who claims to have loved her in many reincarnations. Clearly he is also the master of cheesy pickup lines.
We investigated the rest of the rooms in the initial corridor, all the same in layout, but some had workers fishing for bodies and one had some kind of semi-human candlestick creature helping to collect the bodies.
To the north, while talking to Minerva, we got a peek into the “chapel”. Apparently dedicated to the Yggian patron saint of lost causes, named Anya, it was filled with flowers and plants that Minerva tended with loving care. The chapel lies to the southwest of the pool room, behind a door made of platinum and onyx, which appeared quite valuable (albeit difficult to extract). The other four doors were made of similar materials. We can try to bring a removal crew back to them when it’s safe.
With Minverva distracted by her gardening, we ransacked the northwest room. This one was much smaller, where new visitors left their old clothes and belongings. We claimed 4 pouches from a table, along with a stack of papers and a marked map of Threshold. We could examine them later, as being caught in the act seemed unwise. The room itself had racks of clothing (which we did not have time to search immediately) and an exit to the west.
Ygnas
I tried to go back to my niche and meditate, but every time I did, they came back and pulled me away. Eventually they tied a rope to me so I couldn’t go back. We tried to leave, but I couldn’t get to the doors. Halfway down the hallway, it felt like being stuck. No matter how much I tried to walk, the door was further away. Oscar tried to cast spells, but they fizzled and some skeleton appeared to swat the spells out of the air. Same when I tried. We explored the rooms in the hallway, which we knew from before were all the same niches with a pit of dead bodies in the middle. We saw some skeletons fishing things out of one pit with poles, supervised by a man shaped candle. There’s a reason we ran out of here last time. Minerva made them let me go, but they grabbed me before I got settled in my niche again. When Minerva went into what she called a chapel, we snuck by to explore other doors in the pool room. Some storage room, I think. I wasn’t paying attention. I was trying to meditate on my feet, since they wouldn’t let me go be comfortable in my niche. I did manage to chuck my shield down the pit before they stopped me. One of my unneeded possessions gone.
