Bern

Somehow we managed to escape the supernatural pull of the henge, and decided it was time for a break from adventure after that close call.

I passed the tip about Aster’s fashions and the market in Prigswort to Oscar, who made an obscene amount of money trading on it.

Nottanis spent some time researching the ivy ring we found, which turned out to be capable of magically controlling plants. I’m sure he’ll find that very useful. I’m more useful hitting things, but his weak elf arms aren’t as strong as mine. The half-elf was also smirking about something he wouldn’t talk about, so no doubt he’s got some sort of surprise cooking.

World events in year 108

Summer

Eastdale priests and paladins are rising up and drumming up a religious fervor against Dolemwood.

Fall

A goat-headed general in Dolmenwood is planning to crack down on magic.

Winter

In Threshold, Torbert (head of the temple of Doghma in Threshold) has died of unspecified causes.

We suspect he may have been eaten by an escaped gibbering mouther.

Pish

I want to live to Elf, not Elf to live. It felt like the latter my first season with this group – ending with a close TPC- total party cult- but we just saved them from the ritual. Lodging wise I’m prepared for life on the road, but magically I felt ill-prepared. I feel like I need a few more options when the weird skat hits the fan. For the rest of the year I needed to regroup and work on spells, my smarts, and my coin pouch.

First things first, I needed to make some money. I spent the summer helping the Tanner’s guild translating documents. It was boring work, but a bit of boring is needed after that spring. I earned 200 gold (not great but I’m feeling +1 about my next attempt) and kept my ears open for rumors. It seems some Eastdale priests are rising up in a sort of crusade vs the Dolemwood. That’s all the wood needs- more encouragement for young haters.

I focused mostly on my magic in the fall. I spent a bit of my new gold to learn a spell from a magical scholar. We had similar areas of focus but I was able to get a ventriloquism spell. The greater success is when I studied on my own. I found a few spells in previously captured books and was able to pick up almost all of them thanks to my big Elf brain. My only regret is I couldn’t (and likely will never) master Aztazars acrid finger. I might try to come up with my own, better version in the future. I didn’t pay too much to the comings and goings of the world, but did hear a general is riling up folks against the awakening of the ley lines which is pretty rich for a Goatman (breggle) in the Dolmanwood.

During the final few months of the year, I focused on mastering my new spells and generally smartening myself up for winter (¼ seasons to increase int). Three of the spells I learned I can’t cast yet, but I found ruminating on the theory of detect evil, Gartzee’s Incredulous Apostate, and phantasmal force has really stretched my brain. All this studying has also made me restless for the road. I heard that Master Torbert of the Library of Dogma died and my first reaction was wondering if he was eaten by some creature or spell gone wrong. It’s time to meet back with these crazy adventurers, if only to have someone carry this heavy bag!
